O-rings with food approvals in EPDM
The use of seals for food and drinking water applications is one of the toughest challenges for your customers.
If a seal touches the food, it must meet approved safety standards so it won’t contaminate the food. Different uses need different sealing materials and approvals.
Besides being chemically compatible with the food or liquid, the seal must also handle the temperature range and the cleaning or sterilizing processes used.
EPDM is one of the most common materials for seals that touch food and drinking water because it performs well in these conditions.

We offer a wide range of EPDM O-rings that have been tested to meet FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, EC 1935/2004 and NSF 61.
These EPDM O-rings are peroxide-cured and built to resist ageing, high and low temperatures, hot water and steam. They also show very good compression set performance (they keep their shape under pressure).
The EPDM compound contains no animal-derived ingredients (ADI-free) and meets REACH (EC 1907/2006) and RoHS (EU 2015/863) rules.
