EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is the preferred elastomer for steam, hot water and outdoor applications. Its exceptional resistance to ozone, UV and weathering makes it ideal for external environments and water systems.
Key Properties
- Excellent resistance to steam and hot water
- Outstanding ozone, UV and weathering resistance
- Good resistance to dilute acids, alkalis, ketones and alcohols
- Wide low-temperature flexibility down to -45°C
- Resistant to fire-resistant hydraulic fluids (phosphate ester)
Limitations
- Cannot be used with mineral oils, greases or petroleum fuels
- Not compatible with di-ester based lubricants
